The economic downturn of 1893 caused widespread bankruptcies and deflation, highlighting the need for better credit management.

Formation of NACM

In 1896, credit practitioners united to create the National Association of Credit Management to prevent future financial crises.

Establishment of Salt Lake City Affiliate

In 1901, the Salt Lake City affiliate was formed, marking the beginning of NACM Intermountain.
