Email Etiquette

In a professional world, email is the number one go to for the majority of communications. For this discussion we will cover the do's and don'ts of professional email correspondence. Additionally, we will tackle how to word collections emails in a stern yet professional way, why it is important to keep an electronic copy of email correspondence for legal reason, and how our email language matters for when turned over to the courts. We will talk about what we should put in emails and what language we should avoid. We will also talk about integrating text messaging to customers and what protocol/language to use as well.

When we communicate for our organizations, our words and tone represent the company we work for and as such what we say and do is an extension of the company we work for. "If you can't say anything nice..."  and other best practice adages.

Stephanie is the Director of Accounting and Human Resources Manager for Gritton & Associates in Salt Lake City, Utah. She has been with the company for 19 years, working in HR for the past 12. Stephanie works specifically with new hires in the organization to train on best practices protocol for being the voice and face of the organization they represent.

ICEL is a group of credit professionals that recognize the importance of quality credit management in business and promote professional development by offering educational and leadership opportunities through quality programs, publications and scholarships.

Who Can Join?
Anyone interested in furthering their business credit education.

Why Should I Belong?
Monthly Meetings - Credit & Career oriented meetings are held on the second Thursday of each month at 11:45, usually at the Hotel RL, 161 West 600 South, Salt Lake City.

Educational Conferences - National and Regional Conferences are held throughout the year in various locations.

Scholarships - As a member of ICEL, after one full year of membership, and with 80% attendance at the monthly meetings (Not including December), you may submit a scholarship request for classes, educational conferences, and/or professional designation exam fees.
